LEGO The Hobbit: An Unexpected Gathering (79003)
Visit the round green door of LEGO An Unexpected Gathering 79003 and make room for one more guest with an original supper-table story.

The play at a glance
There is another knock at the round door
Bag End looks settled into its little green hill: a tree grows above the roof, flowers stand by the path and a round door waits at the center. An Unexpected Gathering turns that comfortable home into the beginning of a journey. Before anyone leaves, there is a table to gather around—and one more guest to welcome.
A hillside outside, a supper inside
The round green door and circular windows give the front of the house a soft, almost storybook shape. A brown path leads between the little garden details. The roof is built as a separate section, with its chimney and tree, so the model has both an outdoor face and an interior to explore.
Inside are a fireplace, a table, seats and small food and household pieces. The six figures are Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Balin, Bofur, Dwalin and Bombur. Together they offer a cast for greetings, disagreements about supper and the moment someone unfolds a map. A dish on the table can become a favorite recipe in your story; a place beside the door can belong to the guest who keeps remembering one more thing to pack.
Try it: The extra place at the table
Start with a sheet of paper and a pencil. The seating plan can sit beside the assembled house or become a complete paper version of the gathering.
- Set out supper. Draw a table with places for your chosen guests. Write an imaginary menu: perhaps mushroom-cloud soup, traveling bread and a pudding that everyone describes differently. All food is pretend.
- Introduce the knock. A guest you had not counted on arrives carrying a map. Invent a reason for the visit that matters to this particular guest.
- Make an extra place. Rearrange the drawn seating plan. Who offers to move? Who wants to sit close enough to study the map? Give each choice a little line of dialogue.
- Ask around the table. Make up one question for every guest. Ask what they hope to find, what they would miss at home or which landmark they would like to draw.
- Leave a farewell note. End with a tiny message from the host to the departing company. Mention something that happened at supper, so the note belongs to this gathering alone.
Keep the first seating plan and sketch a second one after the conversation. A pair of guests who began far apart might now have something to discuss. Tell the story of why their places changed.
Return to the little house
A later story can begin with the guests coming home and setting a souvenir beside their paper plates. Use the matching 79003 instructions when assembling the model or removing its roof. The small food pieces are model props; the paper menu supplies all the supper your story needs.
