Max Steel Interactive Steel with Turbo Sword
Meet Max Steel’s blue Turbo Sword and companion Steel, then invent a space-beacon ceremony with three messages and a crew badge.

The play at a glance
A blue signal for an imaginary crew
A bright blue blade rises from a chunky black-and-silver hilt in Toysit’s original picture. Max Steel’s Interactive Steel with Turbo Sword turns a character partnership into a role-play accessory: the small companion Steel can join the sword, bringing a second character into the scene.
Two characters in one prop
The blue blade makes a bold shape, while the darker hilt gives the eye a place to settle. Imagine it as the ceremonial emblem of a crew arriving at a distant station. The person holding the prop supplies Max’s part in the story; Steel supplies the idea of a companion with a voice of its own.
Mattel’s guide shows Steel attaching to the hilt and describes head-press and movement-triggered sound and light responses. Those cues give a player a starting point for a conversation: who is arriving, what message have they brought, and who will answer? A narrator can provide every voice in the activity below.
Try a space-beacon ceremony
This original activity is a short performance with three messages. Use a stationary prop, held with space around the performer, or draw the blue sword and Steel on a sheet of paper.
- Make the signals. Draw three large cards: an open doorway for “welcome,” a star for “help is on the way,” and a circle for “journey complete.” Choose your own symbols if another story suggests them.
- Announce the arrival. A narrator holds up the doorway card. The performer presents the still prop or picture and invents a greeting from Max. A second voice replies as Steel.
- Send a helpful message. Show the star card and invent a small mission, such as delivering a map to a lost imaginary crew. Tell the adventure in two sentences.
- Close the ceremony. Raise the circle card and draw a badge celebrating the crew’s contribution. Give the badge a name and explain its symbol.
Swap narrator and performer, then replay the ceremony with a different destination. The same three signals might welcome visitors to an underwater city or a station among the clouds.
Keep the performance spacious
The ceremony uses still poses and spoken lines. Leave battery care and attachment checks to an adult following the matching guide; Steel uses small button cells, so its battery compartment must remain securely closed. A paper version carries the complete story.
