Action Man

Action Man travels the world and battles evil on the side as he leads a dual existence as champion athlete and global guardian

Action ManThe charismatic Alex Mann, AKA Action Man, has a sixth sense for danger. He makes his living by competing in Acceleration Games: extreme sports (like lava surfing) that are only possible within computer-generated animation. Along with his support crew on Team Xtreme, Action Man travels the world and battles evil on the side as he leads a dual existence as champion athlete and global guardian.

Action Man Extreme Climber - Action Man is a unique line of bendable figures that emphasizes James Bond-style adventure rather than, say, military duty. This 12-inch Climber Extreme figure is a scar-faced, bare-chested dude in purple shorts, who looks fully ready to scale the walls of the Grand Canyon in the dead heat of summer. Of course, he probably has to keep the villain, Dr. X, from flooding the canyon, which is why he carries a gun holster and ammo belt over his shoulder. It's easy to imagine action scenarios involving desperate escapes, or scaling the backsides of sofas and leaping off the edge of countertop cliffs in hot pursuit of the evil Dr. X. The set comes with suction disks for climbing, removable sunglasses, shorts, ammo belt, revolver, and climbing boots. Action Man's limbs have numerous rotating and bending joints, making him easy to pose in daring positions.

Action Man Net Trapper - Action Man goes Down Under. Dressed in outback style, this muscular Aussie spy has a flair for high-action extreme danger. He can be relied on to make any mission possible, no matter how risky. In this set, it's up to Action Man to sneak into the evil Dr. X's mountain compound and seize the elusive villain. Using his high-powered net launcher, he shoots his weighted capture net over Dr. X and wrestles him into submission. (The net shooter really works!) It's just one of the many creative scenarios children imagine when playing with this rugged character. In addition to the capture net and launcher, the set comes with net propulsion missiles, a removable utility survival jacket, mountain pants, hiking boots, and a bush hat. Action Man's limbs have numerous rotating and bending joints, making him highly flexible and easy to pose.

Action Man Skydiver - This 1-foot-tall articulated Action Man Sky Diver comes equipped with an orange parachute that's ready to be packed and deployed repeatedly for playtime adventures. With his nylon coveralls, oxygen mask, holstered weapon, removable sport boots, parachute and harness, and fuzzy indoor/outdoor carpet crewcut, Action Man (bearing more than a passing resemblance to G.I. Joe) is definitely living up to his name. Always up for high-flying adventure, Sky Diver Action Man swoops into hot spots with a real working parachute, and is outfitted with specialist suit, mission boots, high-altitude goggles, oxygen mask and harness backpack.

Action Man Roller Blader - In his trendy black outfit, Team Xtreme's fearless leader, Alex Mann, is ready to take on the world. This time Action Man's transportation is a set of stealthy roller blades. The 12-inch figure also brings along several key accessories: matching silver knee pads, a cutaway helmet with visor, a utility backpack, and a roping gun. Whether hitting the park for some exercise or disrupting Dr. X's plans for world domination, Alex Mann can handle any adversary on the asphalt with his Roller A.T.A.K. gear. The 12-inch posable Action Man figure comes with all the equipment he needs to fight in three modes--on his inline skates, lying back on the detachable skates as a combat street luge, or hanging onto the skates with his hands to slide down a zip line. The A.T.A.K. package includes roller blades, a 6-inch-long spring-loaded grappling-hook launcher (with over 5 feet of line), and crash-protection headgear with a visor. Fabric shorts, knee pads, and a hooded sweatshirt help keep Alex cool, while a plastic back harness lets him switch quickly into luge mode.

Action Man Bowman - This special agent Action Man goes to extremes to save the world from the clutches of Dr. X. On this mission he's outfitted with a lethal bow and arrow that fits into his hands and actually shoots arrows when the release mechanism on his wrist is triggered. (The arrows have flat safety tips.) Fans of this action figure series find it especially exciting since it emphasizes imaginative spy drama, secret missions, and high-risk action. The 8-year-olds who tested this product also enjoyed changing his outfits and gear (he comes with a removable padded survival vest, jungle pants, and hiking boots). Action Man's face has a hint of stubble, his fuzzy reddish brown hair feels almost real, and his limbs have numerous rotating and bending joints, so he's easy to pose in daring positions.

Action Man Net Trapper - Net Trapper Action Man takes to the wild, outfitted in a utility survival jacket. He launches a weighted capture net from his hand-held launcher that nabs bad guys in its path. Action Man goes Down Under! Action Man Polar Mission with Arctic Wolf - Combining the adrenaline of extreme sports and the danger of crime fighting, cartoon hero Alex Mann--a.k.a. Action Man--constantly finds himself tangling with evil scientists and international terrorists. On the Extreme Challenge Polar Mission, a fully posable, 12-inch-tall Action Man sets out to foil Dr. X's dastardly plans for relocating the North Pole. But to survive on the chilly tundra, he needs all sorts of gear: an insulated (not to mention hip-looking) low-temperature suit; an over-the-shoulder, scope-mounted machine gun; and a 10-inch-long plastic Arctic Explorer sled, equipped with an on-board communications module, supersensitive rotating radar, and a high-velocity harpoon launcher. Included are three 3-inch-long "harpoons" that really fire. The sled rolls along on wheels, pulled by Blizzard, Action Man's cyberwolf companion, who even growls--just press the button on his collar. Even the North Pole offers no refuge to evil Dr. X, as Electronic Polar Mission Action Man sleds in and uses his trained wolf to track the villain, then pins him down with a high-velocity harpoon launcher. Hear the action come to life with three realistic sounds, including radar detection noise and wolf howl. Batteries are included.

Action Man Super Ninja - When the situation calls for hand-to-hand combat, Super Ninja Action Man takes over. Surprise-attack blades flash out of his Ninja weapon with a touch of a button. A full Ninja outfit completes the authentic look.

Action Man Silver Speeder - Even James Bond would approve of this superslick ride. With its laser-deflecting chrome windshield and a pair of homing-missile launchers under the hood, Action Man's Silver Speeder sports car can tackle just about any hazard on the road--even the evil henchmen of the nefarious Dr. X. Designed for use with any 12-inch-tall Action Man figure, the 19-inch-long, 11-inch-wide Silver Speeder has a suitably sized cockpit, and Action Man can strap into the driver's seat using a racing-style safety belt. The car rolls along on 2.5-inch-diameter, hard-plastic tires with an aerodynamic spoiler in back. And when it's time to cut loose with some missiles, just punch the big red button on the dash: The hood will pop up, revealing a concealed homing missile on either side of the engine. Punch it again to fire the 2.5-inch-long plastic missiles. Action Man needs cool wheels to take him into the new millennium, and the sleek Silver Speeder is just the ticket. Dual firing missiles are concealed under the hood, while puncture-proof racing tires, laser-proof windshield and radar-reflecting paint complete the package

Action Man Skateboard Extreme - Prepare for some down-and-dirty thrashing with Team Xtreme's fearless leader, Alex Mann--a.k.a. Action Man. Competing in the adrenaline-pumping Acceleration Games can get pretty rough, especially when you're trying to foil the evil plans of Dr. X at the same time. But with Alex's mysterious powers and high-tech gear--like this foot-long, super-shock-absorbing Skateboard Extreme--you can bet that Team Xtreme will come out on top. This all-plastic set comes with a 12-inch-tall figure of Action Man in light nylon skater threads, well-detailed rubber boots (right down to the AM logo on the sole), and a removable helmet. The tricked-out board rides on 3-inch-tall rubber knobbies (with real springs in the shocks), with step-in bindings on the deck to keep Alex steady. But the board's coolest feature is its 2.5-inch-diameter, bladed rotor disks that really shoot from the front-mounted engine--just press the button on top of the engine to fire, then reload with the extra disk on the side. Dr. X can run, but he can't hide when Skateboard Action Man cruises in on his souped-up board with independent front and rear axle suspension, plus built-in firing disk blaster, spare firing disk, high-performance bindings and high-impact helmet.

Doctor X - Action Man's nemesis. Action Man's quarry is the always-evil Dr. X with a heavy-duty mechanical hand to put the clamp on Action Man. Action Man's necessary nemesis is Dr. X. Children can conjure up endless dramatic scenarios with Action Man and Dr. X hunting, capturing, and escaping from one another. Wind up the key on Dr. X's mechanical left arm and his fist clenches into a death grip. The nasty Dr. X is Action Man's cunning nemesis, making this villain an essential addition to the household action figure collection. Imaginary Action Man scenes aren't complete without Dr. X--especially because he is so radiantly sinister with his Mohawk haircut, sneering face, and one creepy, wayward red eye.
