Bulbasaur Bean Bag Plush: follow a trail of leaf messages
A blue-green Bulbasaur plush with a rounded back bulb becomes a companion for a paper-leaf trail, small observations and a garden discovery.

The play at a glance
A little garden explorer with a bulb on its back
Bulbasaur’s rounded green bulb rises above a low blue-green body. Dark spots, red eyes and four short legs give this little plush a recognizable silhouette, even in Toysit’s small original photograph. Imagine placing it beside a drawn garden path, ready to investigate the first leaf-shaped message.
The official Pokémon Pokédex describes Bulbasaur as a Grass- and Poison-type Seed Pokémon, with a seed on its back. In a tabletop story, that plant-like shape can inspire a visitor who notices gardens, leaves and growing things. The player supplies the discoveries and decides what Bulbasaur says about them.
Give a small detail a place in the story
A garden adventure can begin with a single question: who left a leaf beside the gate? Draw a round leaf, a pointed leaf and a leaf with a wavy edge. Let each belong to a different imaginary plant. Bulbasaur might stop beside the tallest stem, peer around a flowerpot drawn on paper, or discover a bench just the right size for a storybook visitor.
Describe one thing at a time. “This leaf has a zigzag edge” gives the next player something specific to look for. A second character might answer, “Then the message must have come from the plant beside the blue gate.” Keep the scene on a dry, clear surface; paper supplies the plants and pathways.
Follow a leaf-message trail
An original Toysit activity: make three clues that lead to one garden discovery.
- Choose the destination. Draw a little pond, a striped flower or a garden seat on a final card. This is the discovery at the end of the trail.
- Make three leaf cards. Give each a different outline. On the back, draw a clue to the next stop: a gate, a winding path or the last card’s landmark.
- Follow and notice. Move Bulbasaur from card to card. At each stop, say one thing it notices before reading the next clue. Another player can speak for the gardener.
- Send a reply. At the destination, draw the discovery on a fresh leaf card and tell the gardener why Bulbasaur liked it.
A paper Bulbasaur or another plush can follow the same trail. Point to the cards or describe the journey aloud if that makes the scene easier to share.
Change the garden, keep the clue
Use the same three leaf shapes for a new visit, but change the destination. The wavy leaf might now lead to a tiny concert in the garden. Finish by comparing the two discoveries: which detail would Bulbasaur tell a friend about first?
