Bratzillaz: make a spellbook of friendly story solutions
Five witch-themed fashion dolls bring vivid hair, capes and character names to a friendly spellbook story about solving a small problem together.

The play at a glance
Five characters for a wonderfully odd story
The pictured Bratzillaz lineup pairs bright hair with dramatic clothes: pink and black contrasts, a blue cape beside red curls, striped fabric under a red cape, gold trousers and a fuzzy collar above a pink skirt. Each doll has a strong silhouette for a different part in a pretend magical school.
The original five characters are Cloetta Spelletta, Meygana Broomstix, Jade J’Adore, Yasmina Clairvoya and Sashabella Paws. MGA’s 2012 announcement gave them fictional talents, including transformation, flight, mending hearts, glimpses of the future and talking with animals. Players can turn those story ideas into scenes and dialogue.
Start with a small, friendly problem
Imagine that an invitation has gone missing just before the school garden party. Cloetta might propose changing a leaf into a signpost. Sashabella could ask an imaginary squirrel what it saw. Yasmina might picture a possible ending, then ask the others how to reach it. These are player-created scenes inspired by the characters’ fictional roles.
Give the proposed spell a funny limitation. Perhaps the signpost points only toward cake, or the squirrel remembers everything except colors. A friend then contributes an ordinary idea: look behind the banner, ask the host or redraw the invitation. The limitation makes room for another voice in the story.
Make a helpful-spell storybook
An original Toysit activity: draw a two-panel solution to a tiny party predicament.
- Pick the predicament. Choose a lost invitation, a shy garden visitor or a banner with its words mixed up. Draw it on the left side of a folded sheet.
- Choose a storyteller. Give one character an imaginary magical solution. Say the idea aloud and invent a short, playful spell name.
- Add a useful complication. Decide one funny limit to the spell. Let a second character offer something that helps finish the job.
- Draw the result. On the right side, show what changed. Give each helper a line of dialogue and title the page after the solution.
Keep the spellbook entirely in drawings and words. A paper cast works alongside the dolls, and the same pair of panels can be retold with different characters taking the lead.
Give the helper a turn in the spotlight
After one story, ask the supporting character what they would like help with. The invitation finder might want a guest to taste an imaginary moonberry cake. Let the former lead become the helper and add a second page. The growing book records the players’ own magical world, one friendly exchange at a time.

Bratz Bratzillaz Dolls
Bratz Brazilla featuring cousins with different talents: Vasmina (tells future); Meygana (can fly); Cloetta (casts spells); Sashabella (talks to animals); Jade (fixes broken hearts). Bratzillaz Bratz fashion dolls purport to help girls achieve their dreams with special witch powers, glam fashions, and adorable mischievous pets.
Despite its popularity, Bratz faced controversy and criticism for its hyper-stylized appearance and adult-like fashion choices on dolls marketed to children. Some argued that the dolls contributed to unrealistic beauty standards and influenced children's perceptions of appearance. Legal battles over ownership and design copyrights also surrounded the franchise.
