The play at a glance

A circuit built around the landing

Super Jump Raceway makes a gap in the route the main event. The booster sends a suitable car toward the crossing; a successful landing lets the journey continue around the circuit.

Mattel identifies this version as P3041. The old longest-jump claim belongs to its launch-era promotion. The useful question for play is more immediate: can you follow the car from its approach through the landing and return?

Follow four moments in the run

Entry
The player introduces a car at the place shown in the play diagram.
Boost
The motorized unit adds motion to the car as it passes through.
Crossing
The car leaves the track briefly and must meet the receiving section.
Return
A successful landing brings the car back into the connected route.

Following one car makes this sequence easier to see. Adding traffic introduces collisions as well as racing, so begin with a clear route and take turns placing a car.

Assembly is part of the mechanism

The guide matches lettered pieces and supports throughout the layout. Its final assembly step is essential: it explicitly says the boosters will not run if that step is skipped. A non-running unit should not be treated as an invitation to bypass the connection.

Use the full diagram to check the two long supports and their attachment points. The operating tip also shows how the side walls should align at track joints. A small mismatch can matter to a moving car even when the overall shape looks right.

Mattel suggests carpet or supports taped to the floor for stable play. An adult should choose a suitable surface and follow the diagram, keeping the layout clear of a walking route. Do not add makeshift height or an extended jump.

Keep a five-run landing log

This original activity uses one appropriate car and an unchanged, correctly assembled layout.

  1. Choose an observer who can watch the landing from beside the set.
  2. Introduce the car as directed, keeping hands clear of the moving mechanism.
  3. Describe the result: reached the receiving track, stopped before the gap, or left the route.
  4. Repeat for five attempts, then look for a pattern.

Stop the mechanism before retrieving a car or adjusting a connection. If there is a problem, have an adult check the setup against the guide before another attempt.

A record of outcomes is more informative than declaring one car the best after a single run. Even five attempts do not establish a universal performance claim; they describe what happened in that session.

Choose a compatible vehicle

Mattel says some Hot Wheels vehicles do not work with this set. A familiar logo does not guarantee that a particular body shape or wheel arrangement will suit the route. Start with the intended vehicle and use the matching documentation when identifying an incomplete set.

The P3041 sheet specifies four D batteries and marks the toy for ages five and older. Those are model details, not guidance for every track bearing a similar name. Have an adult handle battery replacement and check the cover, supports and track before use.

The historical record

Original Toysit coverage

The original description and Hot Wheels educational-value paragraph are preserved below. The superlative about jump length is historical marketing, not a current comparison. The broad claims about education and brand influence are not findings from a new Toysit test.

Hotwheels track set includes a double booster so you can jump over the entire city

This is the longest jump in Hot Wheels history. The track set features a motorized double jump so kids can launch their cars across the city divide and try to land safely on the other side. But watch out for your competition or you might fall to the city below. Great for single or multi-player racing with continuous launching action. Includes one Hot Wheels vehicle.

Beyond the enjoyment of racing and collecting, Hot Wheels have a significant educational value. They introduce children to concepts of physics, design, and engineering as they experiment with different track setups and learn about how speed and momentum work in action. This blend of entertainment and education has solidified Hot Wheels' place as a beloved and influential toy brand in history.

Reviewed October 16, 2026 using Mattel’s P3041 record and the scanned P3041-0920G2 instruction layout served as P3041-0920.pdf. The complete sheet was visually reviewed, including the lettered supports, final assembly step, play sequence and track-joint tip. The landing-log activity is original. No physical assembly, jump distance, speed or vehicle compatibility test was performed.
