The blue Raptor carries its own character: a helmeted rider leaning over the handlebars, with boots beside the body and four chunky tires below. Two levers and a visible rider
RadioShack’s guide separates the driving jobs between two levers. The left lever moves the Raptor forward or backward, with release bringing it to a stop. The right lever steers left or right, returning to straight travel when released. Try it: a trail-guide weather report
This original Toysit activity uses a drawn trail and a paper rider. All the weather and terrain stay in the drawing.
- Mark three landmarks. Draw a forked pine, a striped signpost and a lookout shelter along a winding line.
- Prepare a forecast. Make cards for sunshine, a drifting cloud and a breeze. Choose one and invent what the guide can see at the first landmark.
- Give a short report. Say, “At the forked pine, a cloud is hiding the distant hill. Our next stop is the striped signpost.” A partner moves the paper rider to that destination.
- Change the view. Draw a new forecast card at the next stop and describe one detail that has changed. Finish at the shelter with a report about the whole journey.
Swap guide and traveler for a second trip. A solo player can record three reports as captions, turning the map into a small illustrated travel diary.
Keep real play on suitable ground
The RadioShack care instructions call for keeping this toy dry and away from dirt, snow and streets. Use the matching guide for an actual RC session, and let drawings provide the wilderness scenery. A clear, suitable play area can still have an imaginary pine, signpost and lookout: announce the landmarks as the rider reaches each stopping place.
