Green Toys Sand Play Set: Open a Sand-Town Repair Desk
Meet the four-piece Green Toys Sand Play Set and try a sand-town repair desk, choosing a tool for a small building job.

The play at a glance
A small job for the sand-town tools
A visitor arrives with a small request: the garden path needs a pattern. Beside the sand town sit a bucket, shovel, rake and mold. Choose a piece, make a change and tell the visitor what the repair has done.

Four pieces, four ways to change the sand
The Green Toys Sand Play Set combines a bucket with a rope handle, a shovel, a rake and a sand-castle mold. In the Pink version, a bright bucket gathers the smaller tools into one little carrying kit. Set the pieces beside a patch of sand and each offers a different beginning: carry a little, scoop a little, comb a pattern or turn out a shape.
Try a low town with a short path and one molded building. A rake can give the path ridges; a shovel can move sand to its edge. The same small space can become a garden, a courtyard or the approach to an imagined shop as the players name what they are making.
Open a sand-town repair desk
Here is an original Toysit activity. Give one player the job of describing a small repair and another the job of choosing a tool. The requests can be spoken, so the town needs no signs or loose paper in the sand.
- Name one job. Imagine that a garden needs a patterned path, or that a low tower needs rebuilding. Point to the small surface area where the work will happen.
- Choose a tool. Ask, “Which piece will help with this job?” A player might choose the rake for parallel lines or the mold for a replacement building.
- Make one change. Work on the agreed spot, leaving the rest of the little town available for another request.
- Describe the repair. The builder can say, “The path has ridges now.” The visitor can follow it with a finger held above the sand and explain where it leads.
- Return the tool. Put the piece beside the bucket, then exchange roles or hear the next request.
For a younger participant, keep the invitation to one action: “Shall we make lines here?” Older players might invent a caller who explains what the town needs. Let the story follow the player's interest.
Close the desk and gather the kit
Keep the town on the surface, with low shapes and shallow marks. Choose the location with an adult, follow local beach rules and supervise children near water. The Beach Toys guide brings together location, packing and cleanup considerations.
The manufacturer's package labels this set for ages 18 months and up. Check the actual package and condition of the pieces. The repair-desk story is an optional invitation, with an adult adjusting the words and number of steps to the player.
At the end, name the bucket, shovel, rake and mold as you collect them. Green Toys describes the set as dishwasher safe; follow the current product directions and clear away sand before cleaning. Count the four pieces again before putting the kit away for its next small building job.
