Pokémon Interactive Pikachu
A yellow Pikachu plush inspires a paper welcome-committee story, with historical electronic features and an important owner label check.

The play at a glance
A familiar face ready to greet a visitor
Pikachu’s red cheeks stand out against a round yellow body, while the black ear tips frame a bright, open expression. The little forepaws reach forward as though a guest has just arrived. That welcoming pose is a lovely starting point for a character story: where will the visitor go first?
Owners: check the sewn label first
CPSC recall 05-222 covers specified Pokémon Center Pokédoll plush toys, including two Pikachu sizes, because stuffing could contain sewing-needle tips. Compare the actual toy with the official notice and its 2005 label details. A character name or this photograph alone cannot settle applicability.
If the toy matches, stop using it and keep it away from children; contact the firm identified in the notice for current remedy advice. The historical replacement offer has not been confirmed as available today. While identity or condition is unresolved, use a drawn Pikachu for the story below.
Expression gives the character a presence
The earlier account describes a hand squeeze followed by Pikachu’s familiar name, with ear and mouth movement and glowing cheeks. The compared Hasbro package illustrates those same kinds of responses. Picture the small pause after a greeting: a player can supply the visitor’s answer, a destination and a reason for the trip.
That imagined conversation belongs to the storyteller. A welcoming wave might mean “Come and see the garden,” while another player decides that the guest has brought a letter from far away.
Try the welcome committee
Draw Pikachu on a large paper card. Make three destination cards: a garden gate, a library desk and a picnic shelter. Choose one place for an imaginary guest’s arrival, then give Pikachu a greeting and one helpful job.
At the library, perhaps Pikachu shows the visitor where a favorite picture book waits. At the garden, a missing sign needs a new name. At the shelter, someone has saved a seat. Let a second player speak for the guest and add one detail that changes the visit.
End by drawing a tiny souvenir on the destination card: a bookmark, a leaf or a picture of the picnic. Next time, choose another card and let the previous guest become the welcoming host. The paper scenes supply all the dialogue and action.
The historical record
Original Toysit coverage
The complete earlier product account and commentary are preserved below as historical coverage.
Responsive electronic plush makes sounds, lights up, and moves its mouth and ears the more you play
Pikachu is a very rare and powerful Pokemon and a good friend. The more you play with it, the more excited and talkative it becomes. Pikachu's ears and mouth moves and its cheeks light up. When you squeeze Pikachu's hand, it says its name. The best thing of all, though, is that it wants to be friends with you.
Pikachu, the iconic yellow rodent-like creature from the Pokémon series, has captured the hearts of children worldwide for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, its adorable design, characterized by its chubby cheeks and big, sparkling eyes, appeals to a sense of cuteness and innocence. Secondly, Pikachu's cheerful personality and playful antics in various media make it a relatable and entertaining character for young audiences. The electric mouse Pokémon is often depicted as loyal, brave, and a true friend, qualities that resonate with children and make them wish they had a Pikachu of their own. Additionally, Pikachu has been prominently featured in everything from video games and animated series to movies and merchandise, making it highly accessible and continually present in a child's environment. This level of familiarity and emotional attachment to Pikachu helps to solidify its place as a beloved character among children.
