The play at a glance

A little purple car, a very large journey

Putt-Putt’s bright purple body and wide-eyed smile make an inviting guide for a time-travel story. His dog Pep is lost after Mr. Firebird’s time machine goes awry, and the search leads through places filled with new acquaintances. A dinosaur landscape, an Old West stop and an imagined future give each visit a different flavor.

Meet someone, carry something forward

The publisher introduces helpers such as Ms. Brachiosaurus, the prospector Silverado Sam and the future’s librarian Darien. These contrasting encounters give the search for Pep a rhythm: reach a new place, find out who lives there and look for a way to help the journey continue.

The reviewed booklet shows collected items along Putt-Putt’s dashboard. A player selects an item and then the place where they want to use it. The illustrated dashboard also includes a horn and radio. These small details give the adventure the feeling of setting out in a character’s own car.

Leave a reminder for the next trip

The computer rerelease’s booklet documents named save slots. Before finishing a session, a player might make a tiny paper travel note: the last place visited, one person met and a question still to explore. That note can become the opening line when the journey resumes.

Try this: four-era lost-and-found tickets

Draw four postcards: a leafy dinosaur landscape, a castle courtyard, an Old West town and an imagined future library. On a separate scrap, draw a suitcase with a memorable pattern. Pretend it has traveled through all four scenes.

Give every postcard a helper who noticed something about the suitcase. One saw its striped handle; another remembers the tune coming from inside. Add a return ticket that points to the next scene, then arrange the postcards into a story route.

Finish by opening the imaginary suitcase and revealing something that explains its travels: perhaps invitations to a reunion for all four helpers. These invented postcards are an original Toysit activity using playful storybook eras.
