Soccer Starter Set
A Franklin-marked ball, orange field markers and shin guards suggest a small soccer scene, with an original make-believe delivery route.

The play at a glance
A patch of ground becomes a place with destinations
The white-and-green ball sits beside bright orange field markers and a pair of shin guards in Toysit’s original picture. Imagine those markers giving an open patch of ground a few simple places: a station, a garden gate, or the final stop on a very small delivery round.A few pieces make a playing space
The ball gives the picture its center, while the orange markers suggest places to move toward or pass between. The green graphics and Franklin name are visible on the ball. The guards are pictured as another part of the set, alongside the equipment for marking a small field.
In the original description, the markers are four plastic discs for laying out a practice area. A surviving set’s actual contents can tell you which arrangement is possible. Two markers can describe one wide gateway; four can describe two. A named gateway gives a gentle ground-ball journey a destination without needing a full match.
Use the actual equipment labels and appropriate local play guidance for ball choice and guard fit. A relaxed imaginative route can focus on where the ball travels and what the players call each place.
Original activity: Four-marker delivery route
If your set has the four markers described in the original account, an adult can arrange them as two wide gates in a clear, suitable area. Keep the route free of bystanders and obstacles. Name one gate “Station” and the other “Garden,” or invent two destinations together.
Gently guide the ball along the ground toward a gate. When it arrives, pause and announce an imaginary delivery: “A parcel of sunshine for the garden!” Then choose the next stop. There is no race, hard shot or required number of successful passes.
If the actual marker count differs, make the four-marker route on paper instead. Draw two gates and trace a ball’s imagined journey between them, adding a delivery note at each stop. The drawing can be a complete story in its own right.
This original Toysit suggestion adds a pretend destination to simple ball play. Companions can alternate between guiding the ball and naming its next delivery.

This starter set has everything young soccer players need to start practicing.
Endorsed by Major League Soccer--America's premier pro-soccer association--this starter set has everything young soccer players need to start practicing. The official size 4 ball (the right size for youth players) comes with a durable synthetic cover that's stitched at the seams, not molded or glued as on cheaper balls. A pair of sturdy, ventilated shin guards protects young legs from wayward kicks, and a set of four fluorescent-orange training discs lets you set up goals, boundary lines, or checkpoints for dribbling drills.
The popularity of soccer, known as football in most other parts of the world, has been steadily growing in the United States over the past few decades. Once overshadowed by sports like American football, basketball, and baseball, soccer has carved out a substantial niche, fueled by various factors. The success of Major League Soccer (MLS), the introduction of high-profile international players to American teams, and extensive media coverage have all contributed to this rise. Additionally, the performance of the U.S. Women's National Team on the global stage has garnered attention and sparked interest at the grassroots level. Soccer's relatively low cost and simplicity make it accessible for young athletes, contributing to its growing presence in schools and local clubs. With a diverse fan base that reflects the nation's multicultural fabric, soccer has the potential to become an even more significant sport in the American cultural landscape.
