Bratz Instant Messenger
Explore the silver Bratz Instant Messenger and exchange an original two-line costume brief, using fictional characters and paper message cards.

The play at a glance
A small screen for a big fashion idea
The Bratz messenger in the original photograph has a silver body, a small LCD screen and rows of purple keyboard squares. A stylus points toward the display, with a circular control and star-shaped button below. It looks ready for the next short exchange: a question, an invitation or a detail that changes an imagined outfit.
From a message to a miniature scene
The appeal of a little text communicator is the pause between an idea and a reply. One player proposes an occasion; another answers with a surprising costume detail. A short exchange can become the beginning of a doll scene, a drawing or an imaginary fashion magazine.
The Express Chat manufacturer text describes local radio messaging alongside organizer functions. Its email terminology belongs to that device’s messaging system. The useful play idea is an exchange of brief notes between participants, with each reply adding something the first writer had not considered.
Try a two-line costume brief
For this original Toysit activity, draw a small screen on two paper cards. Each card gets room for two short lines. Give the participants fictional studio names.
- Send an invitation: the first player names an imagined event and a color. “Garden concert. Something violet.” is enough to begin.
- Reply with a detail: the second player suggests one feature and asks one question. “A violet scarf. Daytime or evening?”
- Answer and sketch: agree on the occasion, then draw an outfit or choose suitable existing doll clothing. Each player explains where the other person’s idea appears.
- Change the assignment: keep the color but change the event. Decide which part of the outfit stays and which detail needs a new purpose.
Place the cards beside the finished drawing as a little design history. A visitor can follow how a few words became a costume. For a group, pass the cards around so each person contributes one question or detail.
Friendly messages with invented details
Use made-up names and fictional plans in the activity. Keep real addresses, phone numbers and passwords out of play messages. The paper version makes it easy to read a draft together, shorten it and decide whether its meaning is clear.
The Express Chat text describes a FriendMaker mode that broadcasts user details when enabled. Adults should review the exact unit’s matching guide and settings before electronic use; local radio is not a private channel. A matched, adult-checked pair may be used for the exchange, while paper cards provide the whole game on their own.

Sources and editorial notes
The mirrored fourteen-page Bratz Express Chat manufacturer text was reviewed, including organizer, messaging and FriendMaker sections. Its stylus, keyboard and star-button descriptions are consistent with the photograph, but complete diagrams, the unit’s rear label and exact retail revision remain unverified. A 2003 MGA filing identifies Express Chat 260875; its PDF exhibits were blocked during retrieval. The manufacturer-text storage limits differ from the original account, so the archived 100-foot range, twenty-message and twenty-five-number claims are not repeated as verified performance. No physical testing or privacy guarantee is claimed.
