LeapFrog Learning Table: a little band around a turning page
Instrument-shaped controls gather around a central picture book on this colorful LeapFrog activity table, ready for a short sound tour.

The play at a glance
A little band arranged around a book
The white tabletop has a busy perimeter: red, yellow and green keys at the front, a yellow horn-shaped piece across the back, a bead-filled roller, and other bright controls around a central picture book. Blue legs lift the whole scene into a small activity table.
The original account describes a center page that changes between Learn and Music modes. Pressing, sliding and turning give a player different ways to explore the instruments gathered around it.
Choose an instrument, then listen
The arrangement suggests a miniature band: keyboard-like keys, a horn, a round string-instrument shape and a book in the middle. A player can linger at one control or visit several. The original description pairs this variety of movements with lights, instrument sounds, letters and numbers.
Give each action time to finish before choosing another. An adult can name the visible movement—press, slide or turn—and join in with a short description of the sound actually heard. The page in the middle offers a natural place to pause between visits.
Try a three-stop sound tour
An original Toysit activity: choose a small sequence around the tabletop and repeat it.
- With the table prepared according to its own guide, choose three familiar controls. Point to each and name the action it takes.
- Visit them in the player’s chosen order, allowing each response to finish.
- Repeat the same three stops in the same mode. Describe anything you notice: a short sound, a tune, a spoken word or a pause.
- Let the player choose one different stop for a second tour. There is room to return to a favorite.
For a pretend version, draw a keyboard, horn and round instrument on paper. Point to the pictures in order and supply your own humming or spoken sounds. The paper becomes a map for a little imaginary band.
Set up for comfortable shared play
An adult should match the table’s model to its instructions before installing or removing legs. Use the guide’s placement and supervision advice, with the player comfortably able to reach the chosen controls. The sound tour can stay with one or two controls when that suits the player.
