The outfit sets the scene
The shirt’s dark edging frames Elmo’s orange nose and open mouth. Below it, the shiny-looking shorts end above broad white shoes. The familiar red character has become a little performer, with the alphabet displayed on his clothes as well as carried by his song.

Choose a letter connected to something you enjoy: a name, an animal or a favorite place. Draw it large enough to decorate. A B might sit beside a bear carrying a picnic basket; an S could appear above a sailboat setting out across a paper sea.
Let the picture become a short introduction. Who is in the scene? Where are they going? What will they bring back? These player-made details turn a single letter into a small story to share before or after Elmo’s song.

- Draw an object, animal or place that begins with it.
- Add a border that suits your picture: waves, leaves, stars or dots.
- Choose a welcoming gesture, such as a wave or a point toward the card.
